Call for Panels
| Deadline: Tuesday, 15 January 2013
We invite visual sociologists and related scholars, including independent scholars and other visual practitioners, to submit proposals for panels. A panel will comprise a chair or commentator and four presentations. Each panel will be allocated a two (2) hour session.
To submit a panel proposal we invite you to provide a title and abstract. The abstract must not exceed 400 words and should be phrased as a call for papers. It must include an email address paper proposals can be sent to. A short biography of the person(s) submitting and chairing the panel should also be included (up to 200 words, including affiliation and recent publications, activities). Alternatively, it is possible to submit complete panel proposals, in this case as well as a title and abstract for the panel, 4 paper titles and abstracts should be presented, along with biographical details of all presenters.
In a second round the call for papers will be issued. Proposals for individual papers will be submitted directly to panel organizers. They will be in charge of selecting them and informing the conference organizers about their selection. They will also have the option to re-direct to the conference organizers proposals that they feel are interesting but cannot fit (for reasons of topic or space) in their panel.
Panel organizers will be notified of the decision regarding their proposals by 5th February 2013. The call for papers will be open until the end of March.
Paper presenters will be notified by the end of April.
We will require that panel organizers and presenters of selected papers register for the conference by the end of May.
