Duquesne University (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania USA), June 26-28, 2014
During the days of June 26 – 28, visual scholars and artists from around the world gathered to share their research and network in paper sessions, workshops, film sessions, exhibitions and social events in Pittsburg.
The theme for this conference was “Visual dialogues in post-industrial societies: transforming the gaze”.
Post-industrial societies require new forms of visual imagination and research. In this context visual researchers create new ways of capturing and interpreting our constantly transforming social life, and construct alternative epistemologies that dialogue with increasingly broader audiences and disciplines.
