Caution! Police Officer

Image aligned to the right This photo depicting a police officer in Philadelphia next to the plastic ‘caution’ banner is fairly obvious as a metaphor. It may be somewhat unfair to this particular police officer who may very well be an honest and unprejudiced man (who, luckily for once, did not challenge my unsolicited photo-taking). Yet he stands here as a ‘nominal’ representation of a professional class which is in many countries often associated with disquieting forms of racism and brutality.
