We are writing with the unexpected and disappointing news that due to logistical circumstances outside of their control, the local conference team for IVSA Sicily 2026 is sadly unable to deliver our conference next June as planned.
The IVSA’s Executive Board have carefully examined our options going forwards, weighing operational and financial factors. Accordingly, we recommend that we hold our next major International Conference in Cardiff in 2027 as planned, which will allow us to devote more funds to a programme of regional workshops in 2026 and to offering many more travel grants to our international and underfunded members in 2027.
So, next year, in 2026, instead of our usual annual conference, we will hold an innovative series of IVSA regional workshops, around the globe. We will soon issue a call to IVSA members interested in hosting an IVSA regional workshop.
Please rest assured, our Visualista Film Festival will continue in 2026 and information about this will be sent out in due course.
Do stay tuned for more information on our call for IVSA regional workshops, and for news of other exciting IVSA initiatives planned for 2026!
Best wishes,
Susan and the Executive Board
